About

Guachinche Ramon is a traditional La Orotava guachinche where the rough edges are part of the appeal. Reviews describe a simple garage-like setting, warm service, terrace views, local wine and hearty Canarian food at reasonable prices.

The strongest food signals are chickpea stew, rabbit in salmorejo, smoked cheese with mojo and honey, octopus, pork cheeks and beef in sauce. It is a very good fit if you want a local lunch after Puerto de la Cruz or La Orotava, but one practical detail matters: a recent review describes it as cash only, so do not arrive depending on card payment.

Useful before you go

This food stop is strongest when it solves the route around it, not when it becomes a separate detour.

Easily our favorite dining experience in Tenerife. The dishes were full of flavor, featuring local cheeses, wines and traditional recipes. We tried the chickpea stew and the rabbit in salmorejo - absolutely delicious. The hosts were very welcoming as well and the atmosphere warm and relaxed. The place is not fancy - it's just a simple barn in a remote spot (even a little hard to find) but that’s part of its charm. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

It was the perfect spot for our first lunch in Tenerife. Recommended by a local and i am so glad we listened. Everything was super tasty, and what you pay was really affordable. I totally recommend to do a 15min drive from Puerto de la Cruz and enjoy your delicious lunch with an amazing view. And the all female staff were so friendly!

An incredible dining experience from the wine, starters, mains and all the way to desert. Everything is their own produce! The environment is so earthy and surrounded by nature. You must stop to eat here if you are around. Genuine prices and hearty food. Pork cheeks…oh waw!

A true hidden gem! This place is the perfect combination of authentic local flavors and a stunning atmosphere. We sat on the terrace which offers a beautiful view, making the meal feel even more special. The food was delicious and paired perfectly with their local wine selection, all at a very affordable price point. What really stood out, though, was the service; the waitresses were all incredibly kind, attentive, and had the biggest smiles. Highly recommend!

I’d give more 🌟if possible. First of all for the amazing welcoming atmosphere. We came during heavy rain and the place looked like a closed garage, we tried opening the door but failed and then a gorgeous lady came and welcome us in. At the entrance you feel like you’re entering a private home/yard/garage. Nothing fancy, but a simple place that you instantly know will give you great service and delicious food. And this is exactly what you get😍queso ahumado - the best in Tenerife, with mojo and a hint of honey. Octopus- soft, fresh, almost no spices and delicious. Red house wine- light, fun, crispy. Beef stew/carne in salsa- like your grandma cooked it just for you when you come visit. It’s cash only. Portions are big, prices very reasonable and the atmosphere you cannot easily find elsewhere♥️
