Going up to Teide?
Do not use the coast forecast. Temperatures fall with altitude and strong wind can change road, trail and cable-car plans.
Choosing a beach?
Compare the north and south before setting off. Low cloud around Puerto de la Cruz does not mean the beaches near Adeje have the same weather.
Planning a boat trip or cable car?
Check the gusts as well as the temperature. Wind is often the detail that determines whether the plan is comfortable or even operates.

Where is Tenerife warmest and sunniest?
The south and southwest coast are usually the safest choice for drier, sunnier weather. This is a climate pattern, not a daily guarantee, so compare Adeje with the north before travelling.
Can I check the Tenerife weather for a month?
A month-ahead daily forecast is not accurate enough for practical decisions. Use the 7-day forecast for specific plans and monthly climate averages to choose the general time of year.
Why does the forecast not match the weather at my beach?
The forecast refers to a municipal location, which may sit higher or farther inland than the beach. Cloud, wind and temperature can differ over a short distance in Tenerife.
Should I check a separate forecast for Teide?
Yes. Conditions at altitude can be much colder and windier than on the coast. Check mountain access and official warnings before driving into Teide National Park.
Is Tenerife warm in winter?
The coast stays mild, especially in the south, but evenings are cooler and unsettled periods still occur. The northern highlands and Teide are much colder than the beaches, so winter weather depends heavily on where you stay and how high you drive.
Does it rain all day when rain is forecast?
Not necessarily. Rain can be local, brief or concentrated on one side of the island. Check the hourly forecast and compare nearby areas before cancelling the whole day.
Can I swim in Tenerife all year?
People swim throughout the year, but comfort and safety depend on sea temperature, wind, waves and the beach. A sunny forecast does not guarantee calm water, especially at natural pools and exposed beaches.

Town forecasts refer to the stated municipal location and altitude. Teide uses the Cañadas Parador station at 2,150 m; Anaga uses Llano Los Loros at 868 m. Check official warnings before heading into the mountains or out to sea.
