About

Bodegon El Medianero is a weekend guachinche-style stop in La Orotava for local food, house wine and large informal meals rather than a polished restaurant plan. Reviews are strongest on the simple Canarian feel: meat dishes, fabada, local wine, friendly service and prices that usually feel fair for the portions.

The place is a little out of the way and only opens Friday to Sunday, so it works best as a planned local lunch or weekend dinner. One Spanish review found the room cold at night and the bill higher than expected for a guachinche, so check what is available and order with that casual bodegon format in mind.

Some of the best gauchinche food in Tenerife. Highly recommended. Local wine quite passable too.

Nice local restaurant, good service, food, and price. A little out of the way but worth the visit.

Local place, great food, unbelievably cheap. No English is spoken.

Nice and cozy restaurant. We went as a large group with a reservation. The food was good, the service much better, very attentive and making sure at all times that we did not lack anything. I hope to return soon.

It is a nice place, but we went in with high expectations. The food is not bad; in general it is good. It was nighttime and it is cold inside. We had carne fiesta, which was not bad, but it is not the typical Canarian carne fiesta. The fabada is good, and what we did not like because they were very strong were the mushrooms stuffed with almogrote. Another thing is that when we paid, the bill receipt did not specify what each thing cost. And for a guachinche, a bit expensive.
