About

Guachinche El Patio is a Tacoronte guachinche where the best reviews are very specific: croquettes, black sausage, grilled cheese, bacalao, octopus and fresh meat visible at the counter. It is a good fit for a local lunch with wine, simple plates and a homely atmosphere rather than a dressed-up restaurant meal.

The value can be excellent when you order well: one review mentions starters, main course, desserts, water and wine for two at a very fair bill. The caveat is consistency: most reviews are warm, but one poor mixed-grill experience is a reminder to ask what is best that day.

Guest review summary

Commonly mentioned by visitors.

Croquettes, grilled cheese, bacalao and octopus are the dishes reviewers actually remember.

Bills can feel very fair for a full meal with wine and dessert.

English help and menu recommendations make it easier for visitors new to guachinches.

One mixed-grill review was poor, so ask what is best from the kitchen that day.

A very nice experience. They served tasty homemade food and local wine. We had croquettes, black sausage, grilled cheese and bacalao. They were all very delicious. The staff is kind and polite, and the atmosphere is homey and cosy. I would recommend to try this place if you want an authentic local experience

We arrived during they lunch break but the owner opened and was so kind to serve us. Not so easy to find such welcoming place with a dog. Very big portion for really good prices. We took two portions of chicken croquettes, because they were just amazing.

Definitely consider eating here! We had starters, a main course, desserts, water and wine, all for 2, and the bill was so fair! 32€ for that amount of food and drinks is amazing. The staff was awesome, our Spanish is… well, mostly missing, but they have English menu (online) and English speaking staff. Everything she recommended was amazing. Great cañarían experience!

We stopped by for a lunch during our bike trip. This visit was one of my highlights today. They have fresh and very tasty food (chill counter with fresh meat and fishes visible for guests). The service was excellent, spoken perfect english, explained well the menu and gave good recommendations. The octopus and croquets were delicious and we enjoyed also freshly baked bread with aglioli and mojos.

The food was catastrophic. We had the mixed meat grill plate, the meat was very low quality thin long strips with lots of cartilage. Everything on the plate tasted heavily like charcoal despite being only slightly burned, i assume it was put way too close to fresh coals and covered in ash, not eatable. The fries where plenty but cold, soggy and looked like rewarmed. The free starter bun was old and dry inside. I don't understand the pictures or other reviews regarding the food, it was the worst i had in years and barely tolerable for any amount of money and especially not for 30 or more euros.

The staff was friendly.
