Hotel La Quinta Roja by LIVVO

We stayed 3 nights in this exquiste hotel that is within a historic building directly at the town square. Our room faced the street, where it was quiet at night in March. Unlike most hotels in the south, here we had two separate matresses and nice warm covers. The breakfast buffet (served from 7:30) offered a large, high-quality selection, and even varied from day to day. Just the boilded eggs were to hard. Massage is available at the hotel, which was a very relaxing experience. Free parking was available at the large parking lot 200 m away.

The hotel is very well located in the small town. It’s charming and cozy, and we stayed here with our baby and it worked very well for us. The courtyard is especially lovely and creates a really nice atmosphere. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good, and the restaurant was pleasant with friendly staff. A special mention goes to the cleaning. I have honestly never experienced such thorough and impressive room cleaning before. I would like to hire the cleaning staff.

The only small downside, at least in our room, was that some noise could be heard from the room above, which occasionally made sleeping a bit difficult. Our room also had a very strong “clean” scent, with floral or citrus notes, which for us felt a little overwhelming, though others might appreciate it.

We absolutely loved our stay here! A peaceful and relaxing hotel that made for a very special stay in Garrachico.

The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and the rooms are lovely with everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with a selection of everything - the sweet treats are especially tasty. The location is ideal, just on the square and in the centre of everything, we didn’t walk more than 5 mins to get to anything we wanted. Free car park nearby if driving here.

What made our stay so special was the kindness and warmth of all the staff here, including reception, housekeeping, and bar and restaurant staff. We felt so welcomed and comfortable, and we will definitely visit again.

I recommend eating at the restaurant here, Silogia, the food is amazing and staff are so lovely.

An amazing 16th century building in one of the nicest towns on the island, this hotel is a historic beauty. The rooms are small but well laid out and the common areas are inviting and peaceful. Service is friendly and accommodating, if you don’t like something be sure to same something.

Some nitpicks. The rooms have plastic sheets on the beds which are uncomfortable, you can ask to get them removed. The shower has a plastic soap dispenser that’s more akin to what you’d find in a public toilet than a luxury hotel, and the restaurant has a very limited selection if you’re not into seafood. The buffet breakfast is absolutely great though, you might not even need lunch.

We enjoyed our stay at La Quinta Roja. Recommended.

Pros: - Amazing location. Right in the heart of the historic center, commanding one side of a pretty and bustling pedestrianised square. Wonderful to hear the church bells, the birds in the trees and the chatter of locals and tourists at kiosk. - Free parking about 2 minutes away - Beautiful historic building with an attractive greenery-filled atrium surrounded by wooden walkways - Friendly and helpful staff - Small but beautifully formed sun deck, with rooftop views - Huge yoga/pilates studio, well equipped and free for guests to use. I had it all to myself and there are also classes - Free bike rental for guests, with helmets etc - Good breakfast selection (typically Spanish - pastries, cold cuts, fruit, tortilla, freshly squeezed orange juice etc)

Cons: - This is an OLD building. Our ground floor room had an exposed wooden ceiling which was clearly the underside of the floorboards of the room above us. We heard EVERY step of our fellow guests upstairs as they kicked shoes on and off, got in and out of bed, went to the bathroom during the night. We didn’t sleep well at all. - Smelly drain in the bathroom - Tiny window meant the room was dark - No tea/coffee making facilities in the room and no hotel bar meant that when the on-site restaurant was closed (eg Monday is closed day), you can’t get any refreshment in the hotel a
