About

Restaurante Salitre is a La Caleta seafood restaurant from Grupo La Brasa, focused directly on fish, shellfish and rice dishes. The official site describes the concept as pescados, mariscos y arroces, with sea views and wine pairing as part of the experience.

The menu is useful if you want more than a generic promise of fresh fish: it lists tuna ceviche, salmon tiradito, fish-and-seafood soup, grilled octopus, fried Saharan squid, fish croquettes, rice dishes, grilled cherne, sea bass, turbot, zamburinas, prawns and clams. Reviews strongly support the views, fish and service, but this is not a budget pick; one recent review criticised value, dry grouper and service mistakes.

Don’t let the building fool you, this is a top class dining experience. Inside is well appointed and the outside tables allow fantastic views and comfortable seating. The short menu is justified by the excellent quality of the food. Octopus, Pardon peppers for starters (4) followed by Leg of Lamb (amazing), Pork Cheeks, Sea Bass plus two started as a main too. All were exceptional. Wine - red ‘Can’ was so good we had two. To make it even better the service was excellent too. We’d go back if we had time.

This is a great restaurant all around. The location is perfect for watching the sunset. The decor is lovely too. The food was delicious, every bite! And the service was perfect. The staff are all friendly and work hard to make sure you fully enjoy your meal. We made sure to book again before we left as we knew we had to come again before we went home.

We discovered this restaurant during the first day of our holidays and came here everyday! Best food in Tenerife. Great squids and garlic prawns! Excellent service.

The food was really excellent - local wine by the glass as well. Service was friendly and very professional. Nice view towards La Gomera. I have been to Salitre for lunch but could image it’s a dinner nice spot when sun sets. Great detail: Cloth napkins 🤩
