About

LA VIEJA Restaurante is a proper waterfront seafood restaurant in La Caleta, built around fish and shellfish rather than a broad tourist menu. Stored reviews give clear order signals: king crab, salt-baked sea bass, grilled octopus, seafood paella, turbot and artichoke. The setting matters too, especially if you book late afternoon and let the table run into sunset.

Prices are high, and not every course earns the same praise. One reviewer found tuna carpaccio and dessert below the level of the seafood mains, so the better strategy is to spend on the dishes that define the restaurant: crab, whole fish, octopus and paella. Choose it for a seafood-led dinner with a view, not for a cheap La Caleta meal.

The restaurant was absolutely incredible. Everything from the atmosphere to the food was amazing. A special thank you to our very friendly waitress Fiona, who made the whole experience even better with her kindness and great service.

We ordered several delicious starters, and the King Crab was truly outstanding — one of the best seafood dishes we’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place, and we will definitely come back again.

Fantastic location, great food and service, exactly what we were hoping for. So nice not to be rushed, we had our table from 4:30pm so we could see the sunset at 6:15pm, ended up leaving 6:45pm and not a hint of trying to move us on. Sea Bass baked in salt was exceptional.

We had a wonderful meal at La Vieja restaurant. We started with the grilled octopus as a hot starter, which was perfectly cooked – tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. For the main course we ordered the seafood paella, and it was absolutely delicious and incredibly generous in portion size. It was definitely a lot of food, full of fresh seafood and rich flavor.

The atmosphere was lovely and the whole experience felt very authentic. If you enjoy fresh seafood and traditional Spanish dishes, this place is definitely worth visiting.

The service is amazing! Enjoyed the music on Sunday evening by Nadia , a bit too low for me, but anyway was a nice experience! And the staff was so nice and kind and the guy from Montenegro as waiter was so polite and professional! Thank you La Vieja, see you next time!
