La Almena de San Miguel is a practical Garachico family restaurant with sea-view window tables and a menu wide enough for mixed tastes. Stored reviews mention Canarian soup, prawns in garlic, sardines, octopus with potatoes, paella and mixed seafood, but also chicken schnitzel for a child who wanted something familiar. That range is the point: it lets a family eat local without forcing everyone into the same lane.
The best orders are the ones that sound properly Canarian: paella rich with shellfish and chicken, mixed seafood, octopus and the gofio mousse dessert. Service is described as friendly and able to handle English, and leftovers can be packed without fuss. It closes Monday and Tuesday, so this one needs a little planning if you are in Garachico only briefly.

While visiting the beautiful city of Garachico we stopped to take lunch at this restaurant and it was a perfect choice for use. We could find quite a huge range of dishes: canaryan ones like prawns, sardines, canaryan soup and also German ones like chicken snitzel. Our daughter wanted snitzel desperately and we could fulfill her wish! Serving was outstanding, while the view was breathtaking. Definitely a must!

We stopped by for lunch and got seated right by the window with this amazing view!!! The staff was super nice, talked with us in english and the menu had multiple languages as well! The food was fresh and delicious- and a lot! Plus it was no problem getting the leftovers as a take away 😌 would totally go again!

Very good, refreshing sangria. The paella and the mixed seafood were excellent. The desserts were outstanding as well — the mousse de gofio was absolutely worth it. The service was very friendly.

Traditional food from Tenerife in an old school setting. Ruby fruitful house wine, with delicious prawns bathed in garlic and sauce, and a paella rich in flavour and various shell fish and chicken (suitable for two persons). Inexpensive local experience worth trying!
