About

PlusCar Tenerife is interesting for price-sensitive travellers who still want simple local terms. The official conditions advertise fully comprehensive insurance with no excess on standard cars, unlimited mileage, free airport service, second driver, child seats and free changes or cancellation.

Travellers who had good experiences mention very low prices, no deposit on budget cars, full cover included and quick airport handover, while still recording existing dents before driving away.

Treat it as a practical budget pick: excellent when the exact terms match your booking, not a polished premium counter.

Useful before you go

Car hire is a route decision, not just a price decision. Check whether the car actually makes your week easier.

Paid 109 euros for 6 days for a Fiat 500. No deposit required on there budget cars, was a bit sceptical but everything was great! On arriving at the airport we walked past the huge queues at the car rental booths, the company i nearly went with at double the cost had a queue that had to be over an hours wait. We followed the instructions and found the plus car rep sitting in the sunshine in the car park at plus cars bay, no queue at all. We signed the documents, I was still expecting to be hit with a big deposit or hidden extras but no, he handed us the key and showed us our car parked a few feet away. I done the usual take pics and video before we left but as insurance was included not really required, he just said on return pop the keys through the slot in the back of the plus cars van that was parked where he was sat. We had a fab week then on return popped the keys through the slot in the van as he said and left for home. Great experience and until anything changes my mind will deffo be the go to hire company in Tenerife. Thanks you

I have just finished my fourth rental with Plus Car Tenerife, and once again, the experience was flawless. This time I rented a Fiat 500, which was in excellent condition and perfect for navigating the island’s roads. After four years of returning to them, I can confidently say they offer the best prices and the most professional service in Tenerife. I have never encountered a single issue; the entire process is always transparent, quick, and stress-free. It is rare to find such consistency and reliability, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a worry-free car hire. All praises to the team!

Reservation was so simple, so we taught it was scam. But after we arrived, our car ''T-Roc'' was waiting for us. Car had bumps and dents, so we recorded a video, and after rent video was recorded. Thank god none of that was not needed as our deposit were released after 3-4 working days. So gratefull for cabrio, we expected some problems (based on reviews) so I decided to be gratefull and write my own experiance.

-Important to mention, I had no comunication (as I didn't have any problems), they called me 16:09 I had to give it back on 17:00 car was allready there 16:00 but they didn't notice me as I followed instruction that car key has to be thrown in other cars window. All went smooth we enjoyed our wacay...werry good.

Very good car, nice service. The reservation was 2 weeks for a very good price! The reserved money I got back after a week of usage! I highly recommend that company!

I have ordered the Renault Captur hybrid for 11 days 5 months before my trip. The options I really liked - full cover insurance was included, no deposit was required. The price was very reasonable in comparison with other services. One thing was quite tricky - the reservation was done without any prepayment, so it was a small possibility to have declined reservation on arrival. This company doesn't have an office at the Tenerifė South airport, but the procedure to take the car was simple - I have to find the Pluscar representative on public parking, discuss the other conditions, make the payment by credit card - and I got exactly the car I ordered (Renault Captur). The car was cleaned, in good visual ant technical condition, maybe some little scratches were, but due to full insurance I didn't pay attention to that. The car return also was simple - just to park on the same parking line (No. 6) and drop the key to the company's car through the slightly opened window. Definitely recommend - especially when you are ordering not the cheapest car. Only one minus - it could be more precise information on how to find the place at the airport when you are at Tenerife for the first time ;) fuel policy - 1/2 tank receive/return ...

What type of car works best for Tenerife?

A compact car is easiest for resort parking and narrow village streets. Choose an automatic, stronger engine, SUV or larger car only if you need comfort for Teide, Anaga, luggage or a full family group.

Is renting a car worth it in Tenerife?

Yes if you want Teide, Anaga, Masca, north-coast towns, hidden beaches or flexible weather backups. If you stay in one south resort and mostly use beaches, transfers and taxis may be simpler.
