About

AutoReisen is another strong local-style airport rental choice when you want a low-friction booking at Tenerife South or North.

The appeal is not a luxury fleet; it is the plain terms: zero-excess insurance, no rental deposit or credit-card pre-authorisation, unlimited mileage, first additional driver and standard child seats included.

Travellers often praise fast key collection and good value, though the cars can be basic and visible pre-existing marks are normal. Photograph the car, check the fuel level and keep expectations practical rather than premium.

Absolutely no issues at all, Collecting the keys was quick there was no queue at all. Car was easy to find and new - we reserved a Golf or similar and got a Puma which still fit our suitcases in so worked for us. The car had some marks but what rental car doesn’t. Would definitely use Autoreisen again in Tenerife

We have used Autoriesen lots of times and we always find the whole procedure easy from choosing the car we wanted, We opted for the VW T-Rok for myself and my wife. There was a quick turnaround at Tenerife Airport office we were done and had the keys in 15 minutes. Then out of the airport, the car was just across the road and up a ramp from the main terminal. The Car was located in the bay number I was given, had a quick check and there was nothing to notice. The car was washed and clean inside and full of fuel. We then Loaded up our luggage and left to start our holiday, the car was faultless and did everything that we needed it for. Returning the car was easier than picking up you head for the same parking place you picked the car up from, park up in any bay, unload the car, take the keys to the little office in carpark, state what parking bay you left the car in, and give them the keys. That’s it returned and off we go to the airport to travel home. Never had a bad experience with Autoriesen from any of our holidays and I will continue to use them. Just a brilliant company to deal with. Thank you.

Excellent experience with AutoReisen in Tenerife.

We picked up and returned the car at Tenerife South Airport and everything was smooth and stress-free. We booked an automatic Ibiza but were given a Toyota C-HR Hybrid 1.8 automatic, which was very comfortable, smooth to drive and extremely fuel efficient.

Customer service was outstanding. I have a UK driving licence less than 2 years old, and they simply asked for an additional licence — I showed my Indian driving licence and there were no issues at all.

No deposit, no credit card required, no hidden charges. I also added the Super Extra Comfort Plus insurance (€2/day) for peace of mind, which covered everything. Policy of fuel is "full to full"

At return, they just said “you’re happy to go” — no inspections, no stress.

Highly recommended. Honest company, great cars, and excellent service. I will definitely use AutoReisen again.

Very basic car rental company, does not have any premium cars for rental. The clerk said "we are a cheap company, and all the cars have damage" when I was picking up my vehicle.

I was "upgraded" to a small Skoda SUV, which would of been better for a small family. But has only a 5 speed manual and had considerable damage, which made be go back to request the original vehicle "Seat Ibiza". For some reason, the Ibiza was not available and they gave me an "Arona" (6 speed manual) which seems to be a lifted version of the Ibiza.

Don't get me wrong, the price was amazing for 3 days. Just expect every vehicle of have some type of damage more or less. And definitely do not expect any premium vehicles available for rental.

Hello, our experience is quite good. Car is oke, but nobody mentioned gas wasn't fullfilled. BUT.... Not amused by waiting more than one hour to get the keys of the car! So much tourists are waiting, only 2 persons at the administration. That isn't oke. You knowhow much cars are reserved, than it's necassary there are persons to handle the papers. Many greetings, J vandijck

What type of car works best for Tenerife?

A compact car is easiest for resort parking and narrow village streets. Choose an automatic, stronger engine, SUV or larger car only if you need comfort for Teide, Anaga, luggage or a full family group.

Is renting a car worth it in Tenerife?

Yes if you want Teide, Anaga, Masca, north-coast towns, hidden beaches or flexible weather backups. If you stay in one south resort and mostly use beaches, transfers and taxis may be simpler.
