About

Restaurante Playa Casa Africa is an Anaga coast restaurant where fried octopus is the dish people travel for. Papas arrugadas and red or green mojo complete the local plate, while mussels and cheesecake give the meal more than one good reason to linger.

The road and beach setting are part of the experience: it makes sense inside a north-coast drive, not just as a random lunch. Service can involve waiting at busy times, but the food usually comes quickly once the order is in. If you are planning an Anaga day, this is the kind of stop to build around octopus rather than a broad menu.

It’s very authentic place at the north of Tenerife. This place was recommended to me to try an octopus’s. I did it! So, if you haven’t tried it yet, I recommend to do it here. Atmosphere here and road by car to this place has a lot of panoramic views, so it’s definitely great way to do a trip through this place by car.

The food was excellent and truly authentic. Our friends recommended we try the octopus here, and it was fantastic even better than what we had in the capital. We tried both versions and the fried one was absolutely delicious, perfectly matching our tastes. The sauce served with the cheesecake was so good that we had to ask what it was made of it turned out to be their own mango–passion fruit sauce, which paired perfectly with the dessert. A wonderful place with a friendly owner and genuine, authentic cuisine. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem overlooking arguably the best beach on Tenerife. Amazing food, both pulpo frito and mejillones asados were great. Throw in some papas arrugadas and it was enough to feed two. We had to wait a bit to get served, but the food came out very quickly.

The best fried octopus I’ve ever eaten. The mojo red and green sauces work amazing with the canarian potatoes. Will definitely come back.

In this case words are useless. Everything was out of this world, the food is worth Michelin Stars. I recommend to try the canarian potatoes and the octopus fried which is their specialty. Everything from the serving and the people working is a pleasant experience. Special thanks to Ton for the travel tips and showing me photos of his beautiful dalmatian dogs.

Must try place in Benijo area. You’ll thank yourself;)
