Pasteleria Soto is a local Santa Cruz pastry stop with a big display and custom cakes that are balanced rather than just sweet. Milhojas are the house reference point, including a sugar-free version that one visitor paired with cafe con leche every day.
The counter is broad enough for groups who all want different sweets: cookies, brownie, doughnuts, chocolate cake, Napoleon, tiramisu, coconut sweets and breakfast pastries all appear in reviews. For custom cakes, confirm the size and price before ordering; one review gives 65 € for a 3 kg cake with an image.

They make really tasty custom cakes. Not overly sweet, and the balance between the sponge and the cream is just right. Way better than Mercadona or HiperDino. My kids said it was actually delicious, not just sweet. We’ve tried cakes from other places before too.
The pastries we got were great as well, which doesn’t happen that often.
As for the price, a 3 kg cake with an image was €65.

Local experience for travellers. Delicious milojaha sin azucar and cafe con leche!! I’d come here everyday for this combination! Service is super friendly by the ladies behind the counter. Highly recommend this place!

This place is famous by locals for its milhojas cakes. Most likely the best cake shop I have encountered on the island. They offer a tremendous variety of sweet cakes and buns for takeaway or local consumption.
