About

The Smart Bakery is a Costa Adeje breakfast and brunch cafe where the best feedback is specific: Greek yoghurt bowls, acai bowls, pistachio bowls, pancakes, croissants, fresh orange juice and a standout barraquito. It is more useful for a fresh morning stop than for a full restaurant meal.

The place is strongest when the kitchen is in rhythm and the bakery counter is still stocked. Croissants can sell out, and one allergy-related review is poor enough to take seriously, so ask clearly if you have dietary restrictions. Coffee feedback is mixed: the barraquito gets praise, while one cappuccino was described as weak.

Guest review summary

Commonly mentioned by visitors.

Greek yoghurt, acai and pistachio bowls make it a stronger fresh-breakfast option than a basic cafe.

Croissants, pancakes and fresh orange juice are the safest sweet breakfast choices.

The barraquito gets clearer praise than the regular coffee.

Croissants can sell out, and one allergy-handling complaint is serious enough to check before ordering.

We had breakfast here 4 out of our 7 days here. Great selection- I loved their yoghurt bowl and hubby their croissants and the coffee was delicious. Staff were efficient and friendly. It’s always busy so sometimes you have to wait for a table but it’s worth it. Lucky that we were staying nearby. Highly recommend

Really great little cafe, we pretty much came here for breakfast every day of our holiday. The staff are really friendly and the menu has a great selection. We particularly loved the pancakes, croissants and Greek yoghurt. Also the fresh orange juice and smoothies were lovely.

Would return for their Greek yogurt bowl and to try their açai bowls too!

Great place for healthy options. We especially enjoyed the pistachio Greek yogurt bowl which was light on the stomach and tasted great with the inclusion of granola and strawberries that provided nice layers of texture to the yogurt.

Sadly, the delightful smoothie was on the diluted side and didn’t really taste much. Americano was decent.

Service was friendly and heartfelt!

Overall, would return if looking for healthy options for breakfast.

A mixed but mostly positive experience worth visiting for.

The standout was the Barraquito — a beautifully layered Canarian coffee drink that was both visually impressive and genuinely delicious. If you haven't tried one before, this is a great place to do it. The large cappuccino, however, was a letdown — heavily milky and lacking the espresso punch you'd hope for.

We didn't eat on this visit, but the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked genuinely appetising and had us wishing we'd arrived hungrier.

Service was friendly and efficient, which is especially noteworthy given that there was a visible queue for tables. Things moved quickly and the staff handled the pace well.

Worth a visit — just order the Barraquito.

We had a very disappointing experience at The Smart Bakery. We arrived at 3:45pm, ordered by 3:50pm, and our food didn’t arrive until around 40 minutes later. I appreciate the kitchen was due to close at 4pm, but the place really wasn’t busy, with only around four tables being served. To begin with, the wrong food was brought to our table. When the correct order eventually came, there was a much more serious issue. My wife had ordered a chicken toastie, but what arrived appeared to be a ham and cheese toastie. Neither ham nor cheese were mentioned on the menu. As my wife has a cheese allergy, we raised this with the waitress. We were then asked to open the toastie up, and were told there was “very little chicken” in it, although we couldn’t see any at all. We were also told it usually comes with cheese and ham. That is a major oversight, especially when cheese and pork are both ingredients that many people cannot eat for allergy, intolerance, or dietary reasons. At that stage, we told them not to remake it because we didn’t want to face another long wait. I had originally ordered an acai bowl, which had sold out. That was understandable given the time, so I changed to the bacon and
