Bakery and coffee workshop
5.0 (5)Puerto de Santiago3-8 €

UKURUKU Bakery & Workshop is a small Santiago del Teide bakery where the rolls are the reason to stop. Reviews mention banana, cinnamon, savoury and chocolate rolls, strong coffee and service warm enough that people remember the owner and even the dog. The best detail is that the cinnamon rolls are not overloaded with frosting, so the cinnamon itself comes through.
Treat it as a quick bakery and coffee stop, not a long brunch cafe. Seating is limited, and current hours include Tuesday closed plus a short Friday window, so timing matters if you are coming from the viewpoint or Puerto de Santiago. If you are nearby, it is one of the better small stops for something freshly baked.
Bakery
Not overly frosted, so the cinnamon flavour comes through.
Bakery
A Canarian banana variation mentioned positively in stored reviews.
Bakery
Useful if you want something less sweet with coffee.
Coffee
A repeated reason to stop, not just a side item.
Format
Limited seating makes it better for a short stop than a long cafe session.

Commonly mentioned by visitors.
Cinnamon, banana, savoury and chocolate rolls give the bakery more range than one pastry.
Strong coffee and very friendly service are repeated positives.
The quick-stop format is useful after the viewpoint walk or when passing through Santiago del Teide.
Seating is limited, and Friday currently has a much shorter listed opening window.

A very friendly place with different kinds of rolls (banana, cinamon, savory, chocolate) and coffees. The service is excellent and very helpful. The place is worth climbing up those hundreds stairs and you get a nice view as a bonus. Not many chairs or tables (rather grab & go).

We popped in on the walk back down from the boat viewpoint after seeing a Facebook post that morning.. Amazing freshly baked rolls - both savoury and sweet. We opted for the traditional cinnamon and the platano canario - both delicious! Alex and his pup Nala were so friendly and welcoming- definitely check this place out when you’re in the area. Top tip - ask Alex what the name of his bakery means 🥰

Irresistible cinnamon rolls and strong coffee! Lovely service that was one of the most friendly people we met on the island.
The rolls here are not too sweet and come unfrosted so you can adjust it to your taste. I liked it this way as it allows the flavor of cinnamon to shine through.

UKURUKU is a lovely new café with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff is very attentive, and both the coffee and the selection of cakes are excellent.
The interior is currently a bit minimalistic/spartan, but I’m sure it will continue to develop and grow over time.
It is already a great place to stop by and enjoy some quality treats. Highly recommended!
