About

Kyomu Tenerife is a dinner-only Asian fusion restaurant inside Oasis Shopping Center in Playa de las Americas, mixing Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Korean ideas instead of staying in one lane. The strongest reviews point to tuna tartare, sushi and the longer tasting menus, with staff explaining each course and Petra mentioned by name for warm, careful service.

This is a planned dinner rather than a casual drop-in. The room looks polished and the food is presented with care, but one serious review describes a reservation mix-up and a badly prepared sea bass, so confirm your table clearly on arrival if the restaurant is busy.

We were ready to order the whole menu but we started with some sushi which was my favourite. The one with the tartar on the top was once in a lifetime. Even my husband was impressed and he doesn’t like sushi. The place overall looks magnificent. And the cherry on the top of the cake was the extremely friendly service provided by Petra. She is marvellous. Quick service and provided with extra care. Well done to everyone being part of this place.

Exceptional service from Petra. Made to feel very welcome on a Solo visit. Food was outstanding, recommend the Tuna tartare and mochi dessert. Had the tasting menu which was such good value for the price. Great meal.

I was lucky enough to get a table here during my stay in Tenerife and opted for the chef’s tasting menu — all 11 courses — and it was outstanding from start to finish.

Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour, with a great balance of creativity and authenticity. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do.

A special mention must go to Petra, who looked after me brilliantly throughout the evening. She was warm, attentive and made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived. She happily accommodated all my requests and took the time to clearly explain each course as it was served, which really enhanced the whole experience.

The wine list was also excellent, with some lovely options that paired perfectly with the menu.

Overall, a fantastic dining experience — delicious food, great atmosphere and truly wonderful service. I would highly recommend it.

Generally, I really liked the experience. My wife was a bit upset at first because we had to wait for a while, even though we arrived before our reservation time. However, Petra helped organize everything and made sure we were taken care of.

The atmosphere is really nice and the sushi was amazing—fresh, well presented, and full of flavor. Special mention to Pedro, the Brazilian sushiman, who did a great job.

Overall, a very good experience and definitely a place worth visiting if you like sushi.

We were looking forward to a nice sushi dinner and made a reservation a day in advance. However, just one hour before our booking, we received a strange call from a staff member named Manuel. He claimed the restaurant was fully booked and told us we had to sit next to the kitchen—which he admitted was an "undesirable" spot—or simply cancel. Ironically, as you can see from my attached photo, the restaurant was half-empty when we left, so the seating issue made no sense and I was very upset. Also although we had a reservation, they waited us at the door for 5 mins…

The food was also a letdown. The sea bass was not cleaned properly and still had scales on it, and the taste was off. We were also surprised that the main courses came with no sides or salad. Additionally, having the restroom located outside is inconvenient. Given the service issues and food quality, the high price is definitely not justified.

Gluten free option was very limited to 1 option for maki sushi.
