About

Freiduría La Mareta is a market-side seafood stop in Santa Cruz where the food matters more than the setting. The useful orders from reviews are lobster croquettes, fish soup, pulpo with sweet potatoes and arroz caldoso de marisco, with one local recommendation calling it the place to eat after visiting the market.

It suits lunch better than a late dinner: current Google hours run roughly from midday to 17:00, and one guest says they were refused service an hour before closing. Reserve or go early if the seafood lunch is the point of the day.

Soo happy I came here. The food was super delicious, professionally done. I personally recommend lobster crokets and fish soup.

My local friend told me this was the best restaurant in the whole island. I thought he was bluffing but we ended up coming here twice during the week of our stay. Everything was super delicious and perfectly cooked. The chef has excellent skills for sure. It is amazing quality of food and service right outside the local market. Arroz caldoso de marisco is the best one I had in my life up until now!

Nice place - busy but also quiet to sit. There is lots of food options. I had the pulpo canaria (with vinaigrette) - with sweet potatoes - and bread with very good olive oil. I prefer the pulpo gallega but it was a good try. The service was superfriendly

Amazing quality price service. Really very good at pairing, wine and food. If you’ve been to the market this is the place to go for a meal. You need to make a reservation for sure or go early before market closes at 14.00

I arrived at 4:00 PM, a full hour before their scheduled 5:00 PM closing time. Even though they had just seated a group right before me, the staff flatly refused to serve me. It is hard to imagine a more unfriendly and unprofessional experience. A business that shows such blatant disregard for its customers and its own stated operating hours lacks basic credibility. Respect is a two-way street; a restaurant that doesn't respect its patrons certainly doesn't deserve any in return. Disappointing and highly unprofessional
