About

Cucci is a small central Puerto de la Cruz Italian restaurant where the best visits are built around fresh pasta, risotto and a chef-owner room rather than speed. The seafood pasta gets the clearest praise, and guests also mention gorgonzola ravioli, a small complimentary starter and warm service when the room is running well.

The caveat is consistency. Some visitors report long waits, bland dishes or service that struggled under pressure, so it is not the safest choice before a fixed evening plan. Choose it when you want a small, slower Italian meal and have time to let the kitchen work.

Seafood pasta and ravioli can be the reason to go.

It’s simple and has only a small number of tables, but the attention from the owner — who is also the chef — is truly special. He takes the time to care for every guest and makes sure everyone feels looked after.

Everything is cooked fresh. As a little complimentary starter, while I was waiting for the main dish, they brought a toast with pâté — a wonderful beginning. I ordered Gorgonzola ravioli with caramelized onion, and let me tell you: these are the best ravioli on the island. They didn’t drown them in sauce, just lightly seasoned them. And they didn’t oversalt them either — perfect.

And for dessert, try the tiramisù — it’s genuinely delicious, especially with the fresh berries.

Cucci was a okay place. The prices are a bit on the higher side but quite similar to other restaraunts on the same street. Service was fast and good. Risotto was maybe a little bit too small portion, but other than that, it was a decent place. Would not come again but it was okay. Nothing too special.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the service at this restaurant. We are not sure whether this was due to it being January 1st and a possible lack of staff; however, after reading recent reviews, it is clear that we are not the only ones who feel this way. We waited over an hour just to order drinks, and then an additional 30 minutes for the food to be served. We also noticed a couple at the table next to us who were waiting a very long time for their food as well. In the end, they paid only for their drinks and left without eating. Although the dishes looked very appealing, the taste was quite average. My seafood pasta was completely bland and lacked flavour. The only positive experience was the seafood soup, which was genuinely good. Overall, our visit was disappointing and we would not recommend this restaurant.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place, this was not a pleasant experience. We waited for the food over an hour, and by the time we got it, two other tables that arrived after us, already ate theirs. The food was below average, especially for this price point. We had 6 different dishes and 5 out of them were not even seasoned. Honestly everything tasted extremely bland. The fried prawns were uncleaned and fried with the shells on, which is just stupid, since you need to peel the fried batter off to clean the prawns. The squids were stuck together in the batter and without flavor. Horrible.
