About

Colmado 1917 is a small Santa Cruz restaurant for Canarian ingredients handled with more precision than a standard tapas list. Guests keep coming back to the same details: local products, careful presentation, a compact menu, Tenerife wine and a personal style of service. Several reviews describe it as the meal they remembered most from the trip.

Book it when food is the reason for the evening. The room is small and the menu is deliberately limited, so this is not a casual fallback if everywhere else is full. It still feels rooted in the island, but the experience is closer to a small creative restaurant than a noisy bodeguita.

The compact menu suits people who want a considered dinner.

Small room and limited menu make it a planned meal, not a flexible walk-in backup.

This place is truly special, tucked away in the corner of a hotel. The owner previously ran a one–Michelin-star restaurant in Barcelona that has since closed, and this new restaurant re-opened just four months ago. You can clearly see the owner’s influence in every dish; we tried almost everything on the menu.

Everything is locally sourced and highlights traditional Canarian cuisine. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The menu offers a creative mix of textures and unexpected flavor combinations while staying rooted in local tradition. If you’re in Tenerife, this place is absolutely worth visiting. The prices are also very reasonable, making it accessible even for locals to enjoy.

We visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and were truly impressed by the experience. You don’t just taste the food, which was absolutely amazing, but you also feel the history and culture of this place. All the dishes were very delicious, made with local ingredients and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the approach feels personal. We highly recommend this place to everyone 10/10!

We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday and it was an amazing experience! We were lucky to be the only clients at the time. The hosts were extremely attentive, and the presentation of the dishes was impeccable. We had super good wine recommendations, and the food was excellent. The prices were surprisingly not more expensive than other tapas restaurants we've been to.

We dined here on our first night in Santa Cruz and it would turn out to be our most memorable of our 7 night trip. What a great idea executed perfectly. 2 wonderful staff serving and preparing the food. Limited menu works wonderfully and the wine is mostly local and very special. Beautiful park next to the hotel to walk in before or after.
