About

Bar Restaurante El Cine is the opposite of a polished seafront restaurant: a narrow, simple Los Cristianos fish bar where the draw is fresh seafood, a short menu and a local feel. The official site lists chocos a la plancha, grilled hake and fresh grilled sardines, while reviews repeatedly mention octopus, fish, prawns, Canarian potatoes and queues.

Shortlist it when you want straightforward seafood near the harbour and do not mind waiting. It is not the best fit for a formal dinner or polished service: reviews praise the food more than the front-of-house experience, and one detailed review flags weak service, a hard-to-spot entrance and a fish portion that felt expensive without sides.

Useful before you go

This is a classic Los Cristianos food stop, but the better decision is whether it fits your beach or south-coast day.

Guest review summary

Commonly mentioned by visitors.

Fresh fish, octopus, prawns and Canarian potatoes are the clear reasons people queue.

The short seafood menu suits a simple local meal near the harbour.

Several guests return more than once during the same stay for the grilled octopus and fish.

Queues, a narrow entrance and basic service are part of the tradeoff; this is not a polished dinner room.

Amazing and fresh see food. I recomend you go there quite early because there could be a big que and some position from the menu could be gone. We order fryied octopus and some local Fish with traditional potatoes which go perfect with their sauces.

Local bar with fresh seafood. If you want to try the best fried octopuss (pulpo) you should go there. Tomato salad with onion is great as well. Usually you need to wait but it is worth and goes quickly. We tried fried chicken buy was as good as a seafood.

Local place! Fresh fish, quick and pleasant service. The grilled octopus is perfectly cooked, the Canarian potatoes are delicious, and their sangria… wow… absolutely amazing! We actually ended up coming here few times during our short stay in Los Cristianos, which says it all.

Wouldn’t really call this a restaurant, more like come get some food. The food really is the star of this place. Fresh fish is the whole point of going here. The menu had around 8 different fish dishes with 2 side options, and two different sauces came that we didn’t know about when we ordered. The staff and service was honestly not so good. Barely any english, no smiles, put our plates on the table without a word and ran off, gave us the check but never came back to let us pay. The list goes on. The atmosphere however was nice and cozy but very simple decor and style. Easy to miss the restaurant since the enterence is narrow inbetween two buildings with no signs. Too pricy in my opinion.. 13€ for only 1 piece of fish, enough for 1 person, without any sides.
