About

Playa del Camisón is the small sheltered pause between louder south-coast zones. It is not as wide as Las Vistas and not as polished as Del Duque, but that compactness is useful when you are staying nearby and want a simple swim without turning the day into transport.

Time needed:
1-3 hours
Entry fee:
Free beach access
Transport:
Walk, bus or taxi from Las Américas / Los Cristianos
Parking:
Use resort-area parking and expect pressure
Best time:
Morning for space and sunbed choice
Weather:
Sheltered, but wave wash can still reach high on some days
Best for:
Small sheltered resort beach between busier zones
Backup:
Las Vistas is the wider option a short walk away

Breakwaters soften the water, restaurants and shops sit close, and the beach is easy to understand in five minutes. The downside is scale: good space and sunbeds can vanish early, and occasional wave wash still reaches farther up the sand than visitors expect.

Useful before you go

This is an easier south-coast stop, but food, shade and short transfers still make the day better.

Guest review summary

Commonly mentioned by visitors.

People like the sheltered cove, soft sand, clean water and calmer conditions created by the breakwaters.

Its compact size and resort location make it easy for a short family swim near hotels, food and shops.

Visitors often enjoy it as a quieter-feeling alternative to larger nearby beaches when space is available.

The beach is small, so sunbeds and good towel space can disappear early.

Wave wash can surprise visitors and reach belongings placed too close to the water.

Facilities and parking feel less effortless than the beach's central location might suggest.

El Camisón Beach is just as enjoyable as Las Vistas.

It's a bit further from Los Cristianos, but because it's a smaller cove that opens wider to the ocean, it usually has much fewer waves.

However, we were there several times and on one occasion, the waves covered the entire beach including the sunbeds and even the small bar at the back.

For this reason, I recommend thinking twice about where you leave your belongings when going into the sea. It might be safer to leave your items on the green grassy areas under the palm trees, as the weather can change suddenly and the waves can rise unexpectedly, that's just my humble suggestion.

You'll have a great time though! The sand is amazing and it gives you the feeling of swimming in a large pool. Enjoy!

The beach is one of the nicest I've ever been to in the area! Very clean and well maintained. Everything you need is nearby!

It's a nice, quiet beach, but not too large. The ocean water is calm and clean (October 2025). For this reason, I think it is also a good beach for children. There aren't any toilets, but there is a bar-restaurant nearby. Parking spots can be found up to 1.5 km away.

Nice and well maintained beach. Protected by a quay, so relatively calm waters also when there is more wind. Smaller than the neighboring one. Therefore, sunbeds are booked out earlier. Restrooms and small beach-bar available. Many restaurants and shops at the beach-walk.

Community tips (1)

Small but useful

Camisón is not the most dramatic beach in Tenerife, but it is exactly the kind of beach that saves a tired arrival day.

Q&A (4)

Is Camisón better than Las Vistas?

It is smaller and more compact. Las Vistas is wider and more flexible; Camisón is easier for a short sheltered swim if you are already nearby.

Is it good with children?

Often yes in normal conditions because the bay is sheltered, but keep belongings back from the water and watch wave sets.

Is it a wild beach?

No. It is a built resort-area beach with promenade context, nearby services and compact space.

When should I arrive?

Morning is best if you care about space, loungers or a calmer start.
