Parking in Tenerife
4.3 (5)Puerto de la Cruz

Explanada del Muelle is the big harbour-side parking area many drivers try first in Puerto de la Cruz. It is free, open 24 hours and useful for the old town, fishing harbour, seafront walks and restaurants around Plaza del Charco.

Guest review summary
Commonly mentioned by visitors.
Drivers value it because it is free and large for central Puerto de la Cruz.
Even when busy, people often eventually find a space.
The seafront and harbour walk are immediate advantages once the car is parked.
It can be crowded, especially around events and peak city times.
Several visitors mention informal helpers asking for money around open spaces.
The surface and layout can feel rough, and badly parked cars may be removed.

Really useful for parking the car. The seawall walk is spectacular when the sea is rough.

Free parking, bit crowded, eventually you will find a spot. BEWARE of the ever present scammers, once they see an open spot they run to it, sign on you to come, then ask for money...

Navigating the area proved to be quite the task, especially with so many vehicles around. Despite the congestion, the parking situation managed to be relatively accommodating. The spaces, though limited, allowed for a reasonable maneuverability when searching. It was a relief to finally secure a spot, knowing the struggle some may face. The efficient layout of the area likely contributed to the overall positive experience. Considering the circumstances, the parking could be considered successful. Overall, the experience left a favorable impression despite the initial challenges.

Good free parking. It might be overcrowded if there is any event nearby. In some places, it might look like a dump, but remember that it’s still a legit street. So if you park your car like in the photo, it will be taken by the police.
Good news – you can get it back relatively quickly at Calle San Felipe, 62. Bad news – it will probably be the most expensive parking of your life😁
If you don’t want to deal with this, there’s a chance you can leave the situation to your rental office. However, you’ll still need to pay approximately 130€.
