The doctor I met, nurses and administrators were very friendly, kind and professional. They tried to help me in every way possible and reassure me. You know, it's the people that matter the most.

3.7 (5)Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Vithas Hospital Santa Cruz is a private hospital contact in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, useful for visitors and residents who need direct hospital routing rather than a small clinic appointment. Use it for current contact details, emergency or specialist routing, insurance questions and language-support checks, not as medical advice.
Current public hours list 24-hour opening, and the Vithas hospital page is useful for checking departments, contact channels and specialist appointments in the capital area. Before going, call or use the official channel to confirm which department you need, what documents to bring, whether your insurer is accepted and what language support is available. Patient experience is mixed: some people describe friendly doctors, nurses and administrators, while others complain about appointment handling, website/phone friction and long waits.

Guest review summary
Commonly mentioned by visitors.
Some patients describe friendly doctors, nurses and administrators, with staff trying to help even when Spanish was difficult.
One visitor found a specialist quickly, likely after a cancellation, and appreciated the appointment access.
Several weaker accounts focus on appointment timing, website/phone friction, waiting and feeling poorly handled at reception.
For planned care, confirm the exact appointment time, specialist, insurance coverage and language support before going.

I was able to find a specialist the night before my appointment, probably due to cancellation. Their online booking site was very easy to navigate. Interestingly enough, there were more appointments available on their own site than on doctoralia and my insurance app (Adeslas). I will certainly remember this in the future. I was attended by one of their obgyns and she was fantastic. I actually think I've found "my" obgyn in Tenerife which makes me super excited, happy and relaxed. It's such a private relationship and it's important to find someone that understands you, listens to you, and comes with good suggestions for how to proceed.
Other things I like about Vithas is that the two times I was there, it wasn't very full, waiting rooms are very calm, and I didn't need to wait longer than 30 minutes for my appointments. I also enjoyed how easy it was to get my data sorted to go to the labs with the right documents, and that they collaborate with Eurofins, which makes it super easy to choose the time and day you want to go and do your labs, even on a Saturday! Furthermore the results are very fast and you can access them online. Here you really see the difference to public health. In the past I had to run similar analytics at a "centro de salud ' and they basically had a special day of the week, say Wednesday at 8am, and 50 people were lining up to get their lab work done. I had to go to the centre physically to pick up the results but no way of notifying me when they were ready. But this was a few years ago and maybe the public system is also changing for the better.
The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the receptionist pulled out a form on the screen where she had pulled out the data from another patient. She first was surprised that my insurance provider didn't align. Then I noticed a misspelling in my first name. I also asked her, I think I've already signed this form. When I got to the last page, I realised it was some whole other patient, and the problem is that I could see their full name, NIE, date of birth and probably other details when I told her that she pulled out the wrong person. This is highly problematic from an organisational and data privacy perspective.

One of the worst hospitals I have ever been to! They gave us an appointment at 8 in the morning when they knew that the doctor doesn’t come until 8:30. This is disrespectful for ones personal time. Also the building and the instalments look like from another century.

Half of the star for horrible website and second half for phone country code dropdown with only flags but no country names (So you have to search for code of your country or your tiny flag in endless list). And minus 4 stars for registering system that isn't working properly.
Yes. Confirm the right appointment route, current availability, documents, insurance handling and language support before travelling unless it is an emergency.
It is a practical hospital profile to check around Santa Cruz de Tenerife when the issue is suitable for direct hospital contact or appointment-led care.
