I had Cherne, my husband chicken. The fish was soooo good, I almost licked the plate! His chicken was very good too. Barraquito was not the best we've had on the island but still pretty good. Not far from the coast, they have an outdoor seating

our favourite restaurants in puerto de la Cruz. We ate here like 5 times in the space of a week. Everything on the menu is delicious, cooked fresh and homemade. I reccomend the empanadas and chicken

We were impressed by the food quality, everything tasted very fresh, handmade and full of flavour. Big up the chefs, The croquettes and ravioli portions were generous and I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re looking for proper Spanish food. Service was also great, it felt refreshing to sit down in an establisment where front of house actually want you to be at their restaurant and not just pay the bill and leave, well done!

Tasquita Merkén was an absolute highlight in Puerto de la Cruz. We ordered one of each of their pork dishes and every single plate delivered – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients.

The pork was easily some of the best I’ve ever had: tender, well-seasoned, and balanced without being heavy. Portions were spot on, and the whole meal felt consistent from start to finish, not just one “lucky” dish.

And the dessert… genuinely fantastic. A perfect ending and reason alone to come back.

Great food, great execution, and a place I’ll recommend without hesitation.

We ate here twice and would have come more evenings if time allowed. The food was exceptional. One chef, one waitress but 5 stars for food and service. Porkcheek, melted in the mouth with a wonderful sauce on mashed potato, fish with onions and new potatoes with a red pepper sauce, the fish was perfect, and a ravioli with prawns , asparagus cream sauce was a amazing, tried the tiramisu and the cream sponge with meringue both were so delicious. Definitely recommend .
