About

Ristorante Mamma Rosa is a cosy Italian stop near the old harbour streets, with pizza, black ravioli and pappardelle giving the menu its strongest signals. The terrace and indoor seats make it easy to use for a relaxed Italian meal rather than a formal dinner.

The first impression can be warm when the service is on form. One detailed review reports service mistakes and weak dishes, so the best reason to choose it is the simple Italian comfort of pizza and pasta in that old-street setting.

We had a wonderful experience at Mamma Rosa. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. The service was super friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable.

The location is also amazing, tucked away in the beautiful old streets of Puerto de la Cruz, it has such a cozy and authentic atmosphere. A perfect place for a relaxing dinner while exploring the historic part of the city. We would definitely come back!

A real hidden gem of a restaurant. Probably not that well hidden as just behind the harbour in the area where the street art can be found. We had pizzas which were very fresh with great fresh tomato base, mozzarella cheese and meat toppings. Pizzas are very well priced around 12 Euros, large beers are around 4 Euros and coke zero just under 3 Euros. The service is great and you can sit outside in a nice quiet street corner. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, we will definitely be back next week to try again. Others near us had pasta dishes and they also looked very tasty.

Bloody lovely! Beautiful restaurant, cute location, awesome staff and the food was bang-on! We had the Bruschetta to share, followed by a gorgeous Black Ravioli stuffed with Salmon and Pappardelle Mare Monti, stunning flavours presented beautifully. And you have to try the Gorgonzola cheesecake.. absolutely unreal! The waiter and Argentinian waitress made the evening a delight. Would give 6☆ if I could!!

We went here as it had been recommended on a facebook page. First impressions were good. Quaint and pretty with inside and outside dining options. Attentive staff and good menu. We chose a bottle of red lambrusco and a still water. Starter was a bruschetta to share (2 pieces) it was ok, although needed seasoning. Mains were the famous mama Rosa’s lasagna. Again ok not the best authentic homemade lasagna we’ve ever had, I chose fresh pasta with chicken, mushrooms and truffle sauce, but got tagliatelle with mushrooms and leeks 😳 I mentioned this to our server who also was baffled to which she went back to the kitchen to find out why. They said they read the order wrong. We were given complimentiry deserts. So of course we had the panna cotta and the tiramisu both very bland. The panna cotta red coulee was watery and tasted of nothing, the orange was ok though. The tiramisu needed more liquor and to be a bit firmer, it was kind of mushy. Quite disappointing really. Although the pizzas looked nice that were being brought out, to those we cannot comment, but I would give them the benefit of the doubt and go back one more time and try other things before ruling them out. Disappointing experience – many service and food errors

While the host at the door was very kind and welcoming, the rest of the experience was a series of mistakes. We encountered several service errors: wrong drinks were brought, cutlery was forgotten, and we even received the wrong bill.

The food also left much to be desired: • Starters: The bruschetta was tasteless and served on regular toast rather than baguette. The "Insalata piccola" was very strange—just a large tomato cut in half with random vegetables thrown together and no dressing at all. • Mains: The lasagna was okay and filling, but nothing special. I ordered the Piccata, which should be meat with tomato sauce, but I was served meat with pesto spaghetti instead. They didn't go together at all. • Dessert: The tiramisu was a major letdown. It felt like it lacked mascarpone; the inner layers seemed to be made of chocolate whipped cream. It tasted more like a chocolate cake than an authentic tiramisu.

Lastly, a bottle of water costs €2.70, which is significantly more expensive than the usual €1.30–€2.00 in this area.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place.
