About

El Horno de Neptuno is an upper-floor tapas restaurant in Costa Adeje, easy to miss if you are only walking the street level. The best reviews make it sound like a useful alternative to the more obvious resort places: generous portions, chicken croquettes, beef stew, Canarian potatoes, cheese toasts and staff who take time to explain the food.

The weaker reviews are also practical. Dishes can arrive with long gaps, sequencing may feel odd, and a few plates are described as bland or disappointing. Go when you have time for a relaxed shared meal and can order around the strongest dishes, not when you need a tight, predictable dinner.

Guest review summary

Commonly mentioned by visitors.

Chicken croquettes, beef stew, Canarian potatoes and cheese toasts are the safest tapas signals.

Portions are generous enough that six dishes may be plenty for two.

Staff explanations help if you are not familiar with the tapas list.

Dishes can arrive with long gaps and uneven sequencing, so it suits an unhurried shared meal.

We found this restaurant through a recommendation on YouTube channel - only scrans. Would’ve been hard to find without that as it’s on 3rd floor! So glad we tried as this is the only authentic tapas we came across in the first 4 days of holiday!

All the dishes were really good, we ordered 7 tapas for 2 people with 2 drinks paid €62. The portion sizes are generous even 6 dishes would be sufficient!

The staff was friendly and recommended the beef stew which was really good melted in the mouth! Sauces with the canarian potatoes also really good! Chicken croquettes, meatballs and beef quesadillas were also delicious!

Hopefully we can go here again to try the other tapas and dessert!

Will highly recommend it for authentic tapas!

Everything was very delicious! The chicken croquettes were flavorful, and the garlic prawns and brie cheese toasts with smoked salmon & caramelized onion were super. The staff were also so nice and took the time to explain everything to us. Highly recommended! P.S. Please forgive the lack of food photos—everything was just so delicious that I couldn't hold back, and as you can see in image, I only managed to capture what was left on the plate!

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and luckily there was still room. It had a nice selection of tapas, which were generally very delicious. The only thing I wouldn't order again was the garlic shrimp—unfortunately, the taste was disappointing. Nevertheless, it was a good tapas experience with friendly service and a cozy atmosphere.

We ordered six tapas to share between two people. The dishes arrived in a strange order and the waiting time was long. Cold-smoked salmon tartare doesn’t work as the last course, and the grilled pimientos should have been served with the meat dishes, not with the goat cheese—which, on the other hand, would have worked well as the final dish. The service was otherwise friendly. The food was okay in quality but rather bland.

Really disappointing. Around a 10 minute wait between each dish coming out. The Tuna tataki was cooked and dry, Nachos were Illuminous orange Doritos with a cheesy mince topping. Cheese with honey and walnuts was pleasant. Fresh Lemonade tasted like powdered juice and we were still charged €5 after we left it and mentioned it wasn’t good.
