Punta del Hidalgo is where La Laguna's coast stops feeling gentle and starts belonging to Anaga. The lighthouse is the obvious marker: a tall white modern tower, begun in the early 1990s and inaugurated in 1994, standing over lava rock, surf, sea spray and the long line of the north-east coast.
Come for a coastal walk, not an indoor lighthouse visit. The tower is viewed from outside, and the best part is the setting around it: natural pools nearby when the sea is calm, black rock underfoot, mountains behind the village and a sunset that can feel wild even though you are still close to town services.
