About
Six stepped stone structures are the headline, but this is really a two-hour outdoor park of Canary plants, exhibitions and Thor Heyerdahl's ideas — with the pyramids' origins presented as a debate, not a solved ancient mystery.

Come for more than a photograph of the pyramids. Paths circle the stone structures and continue through botanical collections, the Poison Garden and exhibitions about navigation, cultural contacts and Thor Heyerdahl. The full ticket currently costs €18 and the park recommends at least two hours; a shorter option can be done in roughly an hour. Audioguides include English, Spanish, German and Russian, there are shaded picnic areas and a cafe, and the main routes are adapted for visitors with reduced mobility. Most of the experience is outdoors, so comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen matter.
The important caveat is the story of the structures themselves. The park explores Heyerdahl's theories, but archaeological research has not established them as pre-Hispanic ceremonial pyramids; academic work places the visible structures in a later historical context. That does not make the visit pointless — it simply changes what you are buying. Go for a landscaped ethnographic and botanical park that prompts an interesting argument, not for a confirmed ancient monument. The park is open daily 10:00–18:00 except 1 January and 25 December. Individuals normally do not need to book; guided visits and large groups should reserve. Combine it with Candelaria or Güímar rather than crossing the whole island only for one pyramid photo.

I spent 5 hours here and still didn’t fit everything in. So much to see and a fascinating place. Loads of lizards, which is why I was hopping around the islands. Well placed, informative signs. Interesting displays and a decent enough little cafe.

Definitely recommend coming here. Get to know the different theories on why they were built before you visit and get the audioguide. It's really interesting to see how Heyerdahl came to his conclusion wether you agree or not. Take the whole package with a picknick as well. The portion is really good and you can enjoy it walking through the area.

Nice exposition about local pyramids, flora, history and Thor Hyardail.It takes us about 1,5h (standard ticket). You can pay tickets via Internet. We like it.

Very impressed. The pyramids were as I expected but the gardens and landscaping in which they display them exceeded my expectations. The exhibitions were interesting too and the cafe was very welcome. Possibly slightly expensive with the Poison garden etc. being extra.

What a joke! This is most probably the biggest scam in the history of archaeology. These "pyramids" were built in the 19th century for agricultural purposes. We were wondering, why we couldn't find any detailed information about the pyramids in the museum. Just check out the Wikipedia article!
The museum is basically a memorial for Thor Heyerdahl, who helped to build the myth around the smallest "pyramids" in the world. He created this museum for himself, sponsored by his friend, famous Canadian shipowner Fred Ohlson. The place is filled with a lot of trivia informations and some local plants. They charge extra money for the "Tropicarium", which is basically one room off orchids, it reminded us on a flower shop. The museum is outdated and filled with false and racist theories of Europeans, who brought civilisation to South America. The videos weren't running, many trees were dried out.
