A free circular west-side Teide volcanic walk, useful for cones, lava textures, pine edges and quieter park scenery.
Sámara is a medium-difficulty circular route of about 4.57 km, usually taking around 2 hours 45 minutes if you do the full official loop. The route crosses dark volcanic material, passes cone scenery and keeps Teide and Pico Viejo in view from a less pressured side of the park. It works well for visitors who want Teide geology without cable-car queues or summit permits, as long as they respect wind, sun, altitude and parking limits.

Fantastic stop to do an easy trail with great views of Teide, but note the statutory closing times for the mouflon annihilation (which operates throughout the national park on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays). Also wonderful to view the low cloud formation and presumably sunset (alas we did not say that long). Definitely worth a stop.

This viewpoint is the best place to observe the sunset. Leave your car here and walk to the nearest small hill to the north. It takes only 10 minutes to get there. Start a little bit earlier, because the viewpoint is very busy.

Nice view of Teide with pine trees in the foreground! Few short hikes from the parking lot - also a great location to watch sunsets!

Very easy hike suitable also for kids. You can just go up to the viewpoint, or do the whole loop. The views are breathtaking and you can see El Teide very nicely. The free parking lot is not sufficient for amount of cars so you may have problems finding free space.

A nice hike trail. Not very challenging route so suitable for inexperienced hikers. The view is lovely along the way. It’s a loop trail so you won’t get lost easily. There are some big boulders in the middle which was nice . Overall worth a visit !
Yes, much easier, but it is still exposed high terrain that needs shoes, water and weather awareness.
No booking is normally needed for the PNT-13 Sámara route.
