La Garañona works because it gives you somewhere to pause instead of rushing through a quick photo. Above El Sauzal's north-coast cliffs, the small park has benches, garden corners, Atlantic air and a cafe nearby when it is open. Below the viewpoint sits the long black-sand line of Playa de El Arenal and the Acentejo coast.
The best detail is easy to miss: near the entrance are remains of an old sand elevator, built around 1956 to lift beach sand up the cliff. It reportedly worked only during a short test period before being stopped. That little failed machine says more about the coast than a generic viewpoint plaque ever could.

This is a scenic overlook park atop the seaside seawall offering magnificent views. I also appreciate the many benches and the café. Free parking is available, and combined with nearby street parking, it seems to accommodate about 40 vehicles.

Must see! Fantastic viewpoint just a few minutes from the highway. There is even a little coffee place. Coffee with the best view. If you have a few minutes, go here. Def recommend!

A quick stop to take in the views. Walking through the housing estate to get to eat we couldn't help but admire they beautiful coloured houses too.
A small one, yes, if you are already in El Sauzal, Tacoronte or La Laguna. It is not worth turning the whole day around.
It is the remains of a sand elevator built around 1956 to lift beach sand up from the coast. Local accounts say it worked only briefly.
It can be very good when the horizon is clear, but cloud and sea haze often decide the result.
Plan 15-45 minutes depending on visibility, parking and whether you stop for coffee.
